Foods that help me lose weight seems to be a priority on many grocery lists these days. With a large percentage of the population being over weight and many even being obese, it is a common problem for most families these days.

Losing weight seems to be a primary goal for many people. While I type these words late in the month of March, there are some people who made the new years resolution to lose weight and the are celebrating some success.

There are many others who made the same weight loss resolution and have had no success. One of the easiest ways to achieve your weight loss goals is to ask yourself this question. What are the foods that help me lose weight?

I have been fighting with my weight for most of my adult life. When I was younger, it was much easier to keep the weight off. Playing basketball and always being active makes it much easier. As we grow older and become less active, the weight seems to pile on.

There are many ways to lose weight. Back in the late 90's, I used the "Atkins Diet". I went from 248 pounds down to about 185 pounds. This was achieved by eating almost all fat and protein and cutting out almost all carbohydrates and sugars. This is a perfect answer the the question about foods that help me lose weight.

The tricky part of this answer, however, is that if you eat the high protein and high fat foods on the Atkins diet and combine them with carbs and sugars, you will most likely gain weight and become as big as a house. lol (over weight humor)

I lost a quick 30 pounds another time by following a pretty cool diet. This one cuts back on the fat and you hold your calorie intake down to around 400 calories for 3 meals per day and 200 calories for 2 other meals per day. These meals are low in fat. Another example of the right combination of food in your diet to help you lose weight.

These foods are called negative calorie foods and it takes more energy to digest them than the food itself contains. Losing weight while eating these foods is automatic if you keep away from eating positive calorie foods with them.

Yes there are foods that can help you lose weight. These foods are usually low in calories and high in fiber.

What are some of the foods that can help me lose weight?

The foods listed below are high in fiber and low in calories. This means that if you eat these foods only, you will have no choice but to lose weight.

Keep in mind while reading the list that If you are a juicer or thinking about juicing or considering a detox program the list below is just what you are looking for to help your weight loss efforts. Making a juice from a combination of the fruits and vegetables below could be quite the powerful cocktail.

As you can see there are many food that contain less calories that is required for your body to burn them off. When You eat these foods, they might contain say for example 100 calories. They will require 150 calories for your body to burn them off.

Can you see how it would be impossible for these foods to cause weigh gain?

Now please do not go load a plate of broccoli or asparagus with butter and creme sauce and expect this to work. The butter and or creme sauce will contain way too many calories. You must also go very easy on the salad dressing. Even low cal dressing needs to be used sparingly.

I have found that there are many foods that can help me lose weight. They must be consumed in a very plain fashion. light seasoning works the best for me.

How about washing some broccoli florets, putting them in a bowl and then cover them with a wet paper towel. Nuke them for 45 seconds to 1 minute depending on microwave and how crunchy you like your steamed broccoli. They will be tasty steamed broccoli in under 5 minutes.
